Angela Merkel German Chancellor has pointed out that European nations strictly depend on African prosperity in other to survive. She made the declaration on Tuesday 30th October 2018 during the G20 Compact with African conference taking place in Germany
Talking to the 12 African leaders who are taking part in this year conference, Angela Merkel stated that “Why is Africa so important for us? It is important because we are neighbours, if you look at the world map, and that is why it is in our interest that it goes well in the whole African continent, not only in Europe. Africa is in some aspects a very rich continent when it comes to resources, but also when it comes to what Europe lacks, and that is youth”,
The G20 Compact with Africa intends to promote private sector-led development as well as improve the investment environment in the African Continent and what is so striking is that Cameroon President Biya Paul will is absent for the G20 Compact with African Conference despite the fact that her territory was once a German colony.
